Instrumental music ranging from Berlin School EM to rock
Es ist Abend. Draußen ist es bereits dunkel. Im Schein der Straßenlaternen oder einer kleinen Stehlampe sitzen Menschen am Fenster und erzählen Geschichten. Diese Stunde nennt man Dunkelstunde. Level π's neues Album erzählt sieben solcher Dunkelstundengeschichten. Von Raumschiffen in den Tiefen des Weltalls, über lange nicht gesehene Freunde, mystische, verträumte oder ernste Geschichten. Musikalisch irgendwo zwischen Berliner Schule EM und Rock angesiedelt, werden sie mit klassischen Moogsounds, modernen Elektroniksounds, Orgel, Bass, Schlagzeug und elektrischer Gitarre erzählt.
Evening begins to fall. Outside it's dark. In the glow of a small lamp or maybe the street lights, people are sitting at the window telling stories. This hour is called ›Dunkelstunde‹, literally ›dark-hour‹. Level π's new album tells seven of these ›Dunkelstundengeschichten‹. Stories of ships in deep space, tales about absent friends, mystic dreams or serious stories. Finding their musical home somewhere between Berlin School EM and rock, they are revealed through classic Moog sounds, modern electronics, organ, bass, drums and electric guitars.
LEVEL π is the German musician Uwe Cremer (born January 13, 1965), whose musical style is in the context of Krautrock but includes elements of electronic and experimental music. Level π's first album ›Entrance‹ was published in 2006 under the Garden of Delights label. His second album ›Electronic Sheep‹ appeared on Musea in 2009. His compositions have been compared by various reviewers to work from Klaus Schulze, Ash Ra Tempel and to Pink Floyd among others.
Uwe Cremer grew up in Iserlohn and was introduced to Krautrock and electronic music at the age of nine by Kraftwerk's ›Autobahn‹ and ›Kometenmelodie II‹. Further important genres which influenced his musical style are Progressive Rock, Gothik Rock and also Heavy Metal. Uwe Cremer lives in Cologne, Germany.
